August 2015
Dear Parents,
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Tiffany White and I will be your child’s teacher this year. I have been at Metro for the past seven years. I began working at Metro as an instructional assistant in K-5 AU. I love working at Metro and I cannot imagine working in any other school. In January 2014, I accepted a High school SAC teaching position at Metro. For the last two years I have been teaching K-5th grade students with autism. This will be my third full year of teaching and I am excited to join you in making this year a great one. I am confident that my experience and background will provide your child with a positive educational experience.
I will be teaching math, literacy, science, and social studies to your children, following the North Carolina Extended Common Core, which is the statewide standard for students with significant disabilities. My goals this year are to work with the students on IEP goals, provide them with an appropriate education, as well as working on socialization and life skills. My objective in the classroom is for your child to reach his/her full potential.
I believe that communication is the key to a great parent-teacher relationship. Throughout the year, I will communicate with you through notes, telephone calls, newsletters, and parent-teacher conferences. If you have any questions or concerns at any time, please feel free to send me a note, e-mail [email protected] or call me at 980-343-5450. I look forward to meeting you and I am delighted to be working with your child.
Sincerely,
Ms. Tiffany White
